Koh Phi Phi
Koh Phi Phi is one of the top diving spots in the world, so we decided to take the plunge and attempt the PADI Open Water scuba diving qualifications, which allow you to go recreational diving to a depth of 18 metres.
Hermann proved natuarally bouyant and eventually had to have 12 lead weights to get him to sink. His weight belt wasn't big enough so they also had to fill his pockets. Rosie, on the other hand, discovered that she could scuba dive perfectly well as long as she didn't have to go underwater. On the plus side, she can now put her face in water and is even willing to get her hair wet for short periods of time (very short). After several hours of controlled drowning, she had to call it a day and hang up her flippers. Hermann passed with flying colours, achieving 100% in his written exam, and went on to dive with leopard sharks and moray eels.
