Hat Ton Sai

We've made it to Thailand. We took a minibus from Penang to Krabi via Hat Yai - a whopping 10 hours. We spent the night in Krabi before taking a truck to Ao Nang then a longtail boat to Hat Ton Sai, an isolated beach which has huge limestone cliffs popular for climbing. We weren't that energetic/suicidal. Instead we went sea kayaking round the headlands to visit the neighbouring beaches. It was quite calm on the way out, and we stopped at a deserted cove half way towards East Railay. It got a bit rougher on the way back and we beached in front of a very posh resort in spectacular style - waves breaking over our heads and getting a thorough soaking. They helpfully brought towels for us to sit on before we were allowed to have lunch. If we had known the price before we sat down, we may have paddled a bit harder. As it was, we sat down to a Raffles style luncheon and spent most of a days budget on 2 sandwiches. We ended up with only 6 baht left (less than 8p) and had to get the boatmen to take us back to Ao Nang so that we could replenish our funds.
