Bye Bye Borneo

We've finally moved on from Borneo. Highlights included scaling the Pinnacles at Mulu which was a steep climb comparable to 9 hours of squats. We also visited Brunei for the Sultan's birthday, so the country was bedecked with flags and some very freaky life size portraits on each and every tower block. It was however, good fun zipping along the waterfront to visit Brunei's stilt fishing villages by water taxis.

We took the ferry then an extremely hot bus (sauna on wheels) to Sabah to check out the possibilities for climbing Mount Kinabalu. In the end, the lodges were booked out so we consoled ourselves with snorkelling off Mamutik Island and finding Nemo.

We flew back to Peninsular Malaysia and spent a couple of days in Melaka, famous for its Dutch and Portugese architecture aswell as its China Town. Now we're in Kuala Lumpur for a brief stop over before heading up to the Cameron Highlands to have a nice cup of tea.
